The Communications Commission and the National Committee for the Information Society organize a training program in China for outstanding students at (19) Saudi universities

The Communications and Information Technology Commission and the National Committee for the Information Society, in cooperation with Huawei, are organizing the training program “Seeds for the Future” for high-achieving students specializing in communications and information technology in (19) public universities from various regions of the Kingdom. The program will be held from 12- to 26/8/2016 at the headquarters of Huawei in the People’s Republic of China.

In line with the Communications and Information Technology Commission's and the National Committee for the Information Society's efforts to qualify young Saudis working in the communications and information technology sector, the program aims to nurture the talents of university students in this sector.

CITC explained that the training program covers a variety of technical issues as well as new trends in the area. Big data, telecommunications and information technology policies and strategies, and industrial developments in the ICT industry are among the list of topics covered by the program. The program included a meeting with Huawei executives and a tour of the company's laboratories and research facilities, as well as participation in real-life professional experiments.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Chairman of the National Committee for the Information Society, thanked Huawei for its efforts in community service and keenness to advance the telecommunications and information technology sector in the Kingdom. He also urged participating students to benefit from the experience in expanding their perceptions and linking theoretical concepts with practical reality.
